![]() It goes something like this: We're excited to go back to our roots with fast, boots-on-the-ground gameplay. Gone are the jetpacks, wall-running and other shenanigans we've been playing (and often enjoying!) in the past few games. There's a buzz-phrase that Activision and Sledgehammer are using over and over again in interviews and presentations. Gone are the fancy scorestreaks of the futuristic Call of Duty games (no RAPS thank god!) Instead, we have carpet bombing, glide bombs, fighter pilots and flame throwers, just to name a few. A blue circle slowly fills up around the edge of these as you score points giving you a very simple visual that makes keeping track of these easier than ever. I love the UI for the scorestreaks in World War 2. These show up in the corner of your screen as circular icons. Each Division has different looking characters to choose from, and I'm sure there will be plenty of customization options in both loadouts and character appearance, but it mostly boils down to what gear you'll go into battle with. I tried out each of these (though not every loadout, as there were ten total to choose from, with two options from each Division) and it's about what you'd expect, a loadout screen essentially without the bells and whistles of the past couple Call of Duty games. Shotguns, incendiary rounds, that sort of thing. ![]()
